WOLFE COUNTY, Kentucky - Lightning struck too close for comfort on a school bus in Kentucky Wednesday afternoon.
After initially striking a tree, a lightning bolt ricocheted in several directions and hit the bus with several children inside.
A camera mounted inside a school bus captured the lightning strike when students saw reddish-purple lights and heard an explosion.
Luckily, the tree and bus were the only things damaged.
A school nurse was sent to the scene, but other than being shaken up a bit, everyone was just fine.
School officials immediately went to work replacing the shattered window panes. The bus was back on the road for its regular runs Thursday morning.
