CLEVELAND -- If you travel across I-90 along the lakeshore, be prepared for some detours this morning thanks to Superstorm Sandy.
The Ohio Department of Transportation has shut down I-90 in both directions due to high water created by waves crashing in off the lake.
Overnight, ODOT closed all lanes on I-90 WB at E. 72nd St. due to high water coming from the lake. ODOT says drivers should detour via E. 72nd to St. Clair Ave to E. 55th to I-90 WB. Westbound lanes are closed from Eddy Road to E. 55th St.
Then early this morning, all lanes were CLOSED on I-90 EB at E. 55th St due to high water from the lake. Drivers should detour via E. 55th St. to St. Clair to Eddy Rd to I-90 EB.
ODOT says crews are monitoring the situation and will reopen the highway when the situation is safe.
