Heavy rains cause localized flooding on Tuesday

CLEVELAND - A frontal system over the area brought heavy amounts of rain to some parts of northeast Ohio on Tuesday.

Nearly two inches of rain may have fallen in an area from Strongsville to Parma, Valley View and east into Solon and Bainbridge to Middlefield in Geauga County, according to the National Weather Service.

Several reports of localize flash flooding were received during the rain that occurred mainly between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. 

The Parma Fire Department was called to the area of York and Pleasant Valley roads for a report of a teenage boy that fell into a catch basin during the rainstorm.

A Flood Advisory was issued for Cuyahoga, Geauga and Summit counties that expired at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
