COLUMBUS -- Strong storms rolling through Ohio have knocked out power for at least 50,000 customers in central and southwest parts of the state.
American Electric Power-Ohio says more than 46,000 customers are without power as of Thursday evening. The bulk is in central Franklin County, which has more than 14,000 outages.

The storm temporarily shut down operations at the annual Ohio State Fair as visitors were asked to take nearby shelter.
Spokeswoman Alicia Shoults says rides are becoming operational again, and all other scheduled events and concerts are moving ahead.
The storms come just weeks after other storms moving through the state left thousands in the dark.
