PERKINS TOWNSHIP -- A Norwalk couple were LifeFlighted following a three-vehicle accident Friday afternoon.
According to the Sandusky Post of the State Highway Patrol, Samuel B. Hay Jr., 56, and Marlyn Hay, 65, were riding north on U.S. Route 250 on a brown 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when they struck a car that failed to yield as it pulled out of the Outback Steakhouse driveway.
That car, a black 2005 Dodge Magnum, was driven by Luis G. Hernandez, 31, of Sandusky. He was not hurt in the crash.
The Hays' motorcycle then struck a 2002 Mazda Protege driven by David Kim of Sandusky. He was not hurt either.
The Hays were taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center before being LifeFlighted to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. They were still being evaluated at the hospital late Friday night, so their conditions were not available, according to a nursing supervisor.
U.S. 250 was closed for about 45 minutes due to the crash.
The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Perkins Township Fire and EMS and the Erie County Sheriff's Office.
