CLEVELAND -- The Innerbelt Bridge construction project has another three years until completion, but a big milestone was reached Friday.
The last structural steel beam was put in place today on the new I-90 westbound span of the Innerbelt Bridge Project.
The Ohio Department of Transportation and several construction companies hosted a "topping out" ceremony. On top of the beam a U-S Flag and an evergreen tree are in place, symbolizing growth and good luck.
The final steel beam is over Abbey Avenue in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood.
The Innerbelt Bridge project is the largest ODOT project in history.
The project involves building two spans to replace the aging bridge.
