Cleveland Police have released a report with crime stats from the first six months of 2013.
The report includes statistics from the first six months of each year from 2007 through 2013.
During that time Cleveland averaged 43.50 homicides. This year there were 42. That's a 3.45% decrease in the number of homicides compared to the average.
The report includes Robbery, Assault, Burglary, Theft, Grand Theft of Motor Vehicles, and Arson.
Most of theses crimes show a decrease from the average. The only two that show an increase are Rape and Robbery.
The average number of rapes in a six month time period is 243. In 2013 police reported 281. That's an increase of 15.64%.
Robberies that DID NOT involve a firearm increased 8.83% with a total of 881 so far this year.
The largest decrease was in the number of arson reports. The six year average is 201.67.
In 2013 there have been 149 arson reports so far, a 26.12% drop.
