CLEVELAND -- A driver has been arrested after police say he led officers on a chase that ended with a crash involving several vehicles at East 79th and Kinsman.
Police say just before 9 a.m. the driver was operating a stolen F-150 truck recklessly and at a high speed on Kinsman when he missed a stoplight and collided with a dump truck. The impact set off a chain-reaction of collisions.
One of the collisions resulted in a chunk of sandstone being ejected from the bed of the stolen F-150 truck and into the passenger windshield of a Jeep involved in the crash. A teenage girl in the passenger seat of the Jeep remains hospitalized.
The driver of the stolen pick-up truck then tried to run away but was apprehended a short time later.
Police are still investigating. The crash involved five other vehicles. Two of the other drivers were treated and released for neck and back injuries. According to a police release, the others did not wish to seek medical treatment.
