Hollie Strano's 4th of July recipes featured on Thursday's edition of Channel 3 News Today.

Strano's Banging Bruschetta

3 large ripe tomatoes, chopped 
1 red onion, chopped 
1 large bunch of fresh basil, chopped
Fresh mozzarella, slice
3/4 cup of olive oil
1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar 
1 large loaf of baguette bread, sliced
Salt and pepper

Evenly spread butter on the slices of bread. Assemble on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 until toasted.

In a large bowl, mix tomatoes, onions and basil. Season with salt and pepper. Add oil and vinegar and toss to coat.

To assemble, take a slice of the bread, top with a slice of mozzarella, then a scoop of tomato mixture. Enjoy!


Strano's Berry Blasters!

2 cups blueberries
2 cups raspberries
1/2 cup sugar + 1/4 cup sugar
2 rolls crescent rolls
Fresh mint
Cool whip

In a large bowl, mix berries and a 1/2 cup sugar. Set aside.

Spread crescent rolls evenly on a cookie sheet... Into a large rectangle. About 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake at 350° until golden brown. Remove and cool. Cut into squares or even star shapes using a cookie cutter if you wish!

To assemble, take a martini glass, put a couple of the crescents at the bottom, top with berries then whipped cream. Repeat. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
