SOLON -- A Cleveland woman has been arrested and charged with theft after police say she took more than $450 worth of meat from area grocery stores.

Police were called to the Giant Eagle on Aurora Road on June 15 after loss prevention officers say they saw the woman -- who had a child with her -- placing packages of meat in her purse and leaving the store without paying.

A loss prevention officer confronted the woman outside the store but says she became uncooperative and got into a car driven by a man and exited onto SR 91.

Twinsburg police stopped the car a short time later and say they found $464.58 worth of meat taken from Solon and Bainbridge Giant Eagle stores in the car.

Police arrested the woman and took her to the Solon Jail.
