PORTAGE COUNTY -- On Thursday, the Portage County Drug Task Force, after receiving several complaints over the past four months of drug usage and prostitution occurring at a home on Gilbert Road in Paris Township, arrested Lisa B. Carneal, 35, and Richard C. Roberts, 59, both of 9194 Gilbert Road.
Carneal, formerly of Akron, was charged with soliciting and possession of heroin.
Roberts was charged with promoting prostitution and permitting drug abuse.
According to Sheriff David W. Doak, Task Force members learned during their investigation that Carneal was soliciting herself on a website in the Ravenna, Newton Falls and Youngstown area.
Task Force Agents also learned that Carneal was currently under indictment in Summit County for violating State Narcotic Laws. Narcotic Agents conducted an undercover operation and arrested Carneal after she directed an undercover officer to come to her home at 9194 Gilbert Road where she solicited the officer.
Task Force agents obtained a search warrant for the residence where they recovered computers, heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Task Force Agents will submit their investigation to the Prosecutor's Office, pending additional charges after review by the Grand Jury.
