NORTH RANDALL, Ohio -- Northeast Ohio's first racino (horse racing and video lottery gaming) opened to much fanfare Tuesday evening.
Rock Ohio Caesars, which runs Cleveland's downtown Horseshoe Casino, invested $88 million dollars into the Thistledown race track over the last year.
Upgrades include two new bars, a restaurant, lounge and 1,150 video lottery terminals, which are similar to slot machines.
Over 2,000 people lined up outside the newly updated facility for a first look inside.
The gaming floor is open now, and horse racing begins on April 19.
