STRONGSVILLE -- The President of the Strongsville Education Association says its proposal for binding arbitration to settle a strike now in it's fifth week has been rejected by the School Board.

The union and school board are still scheduled to meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Independence with a federal mediator.

Tracy Linscott delivered the proposal this afternoon to Superintendent John Krupinski.

Teachers were willing to return to class immediately, resume negotiations, and let a mutually agreed-upon arbitrator settle unresolved issues at the end of the school year.

School Superintendent John Krupinski and Board President David Frazee have not returned multiple calls.
