CLEVELAND -- Fire forced 13 people from two homes in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood early Monday morning.
That total includes five adults and eight children. None of them were injured, fire officials said.
The fire was reported just before 5 a.m. on E. 71st Street, just south of Fleet Avenue.
The fire started in the attic of one of the homes, fire officials said. It then spread to part of the house next door.
The extent of the damage is not yet known.
The first home's owner tells Channel 3 News that the family does not have homeowners insurance and lost everything in the fire.
Red Cross workers were called to the homes to assist the families.
The fire remains under investigation.
