STRONGSVILLE -- The Strongsville teacher strike just ended its fourth day.

With teachers out of the classroom, it's getting harder to keep students at their desks.

Many students are leaving early or not showing up at all. But for some, it's not by choice.

We spoke with two seniors who don't have teachers for six of their elective classes.

They said "I'd rather be learning than sitting and doing nothing...To be honest, if I'm coming to school, I would much rather be learning and I know that sounds weird, a high school student saying 'Yeah, I want to learn'..."

Superintendent John Krupinski says their attendance is in the 70 to 80 percent range. He also says the school board and teachers union still aren't close to compromise.

WKYC's Maureen Kyle has the report starting at 6.
