SOLON -- A roadside memorial for a Solon man who died in a 2 a.m. car crash Nov. 19, 2011, is missing from the north side of the U.S. 422 westbound.
Jason P. Kasmer, 28, lost control of his 2002 Jeep Wrangler, striking the inner guardrail.
Police said the Jeep rotated counter-clockwise and rolled onto the passenger side, ejecting Kasmer out of the back window of the vehicle and onto the roadway.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said there was no evidence he was wearing a seatbelt.
The memorial was first put in place just a week after the accident and it changed with the seasons. It went missing overnight Monday.
It included a steel cross with Kasmer's name on it that was anchored into the ground and a wooden cross beside it. Both are missing.
A check with the Solon police and the Ohio Department of Transportation shows that neither removed the memorial.
