HUDSON -- A water main broke Wednesday morning on Middleton Road. The City of Akron is responsible for those water mains and is assessing the repair needed and an estimated amount of time needed to return water service.

Right now, the city says 255 Hudson water customers West of Lascala @ Middleton Road will be out of water during this repair and are currently out of water. That includes the Chadds Ford allotment, Haymarket Way and the connecting streets.

This break has prompted a precautionary boil water advisory for Akron water customers in Hudson and Twinsburg Township, North of Middleton Road and including Middleton Road.

If you live in these areas but do not have Akron water service, you are not affected.

Boil water for two minutes before drinking it. This advisory will remain in effect until further notice and will be a minimum of 24 hours.

The city says residents should contact the Akron Water Department with questions or for more information at 330-375-2554 or at the Akron Water Department website

The City will begin the repair at 1 p.m. in order keep minimum pressure to the Hudson Elementary School.

Repairs should be completed by 6 p.m., however an exact time cannot be certain until a the full shutdown occurs and excavation begins.
