CLEVELAND -- The City of Cleveland is continuing its efforts to restore the West Side Market to full operation after the fire that occurred on January 30.
The Cleveland Fire Department's investigation is still open and the Market House remains closed until further notice. A date has not yet been set for reopening.
The Produce Building -- which is separate from the Market House -- has been open since Friday, Feb. 1.
The clean up by RestorX is nearing completion. Public Works is working with several city departments and divisions, including Building and Housing, Public Health and Cleveland Fire, to insure all inspections and requirements are met.
Public Works will notify market vendors of the next steps, including final cleaning and inspections.
The Cleveland Department of Public Health conducted an initital inspection Friday but final inspections must still take place.
The final inspection will be scheduled once the cleaning is complete on the main market floor and the basement.
