MOGADORE -- A police officer was charged with pulling a gun on a fellow officer at an off-duty New Year's Day party.
Officer Mark E. Halliwill, 43, was charged with felonious assault and having a weapon while intoxicated.
During a Tuesday party at his home on Virgil Street, the charges allege he pointed a semiautomatic handgun at another Mogadore police officer while drinking, police said.
He did not discharge the weapon and no one was injured, police said.
Halliwill, who is on paid administrative leave, was arraigned Wednesday in Portage County Municipal Court. The investigation into the incident is being handled by the Portage County Sheriff's Office.
Court records show Halliwill was released under the conditions that he not consume or possess alcohol or illicit substances.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 11 in Judge Mark Fankhauser's courtroom, according to court records.
