WADSWORTH -- Police say there was a black bear sighting in the SE corner of the city today in the Johnson Road / Silvercreek Road area.

They said the city's animal warden was also able to locate and confirm bear tracks in that area.

Police say it is important to know that bears generally are not aggressive, but do not approach or aggravate them if you see one.

It is also illegal to hunt or trap a bear in Ohio.

If you see a bear, it is not necessary to contact police unless the animal is acting aggressive, sick/injured, or if you believe that the bear's location is a concern for people or vehicles.
