BAY VILLAGE -- Bay Village police have released a composite sketch in their search for a man who tried to lure a girl into his van.  Police have also released of a photo of the type of vehicle they are searching for.

Police say a man tried to lure a Bay Village girl, 10, into his light blue minivan after school on Monday afternoon.

They are looking for a minivan that was described by the girl as as a light blue metallic Caravan with rear-tinted windows. The bumpers of the Caravan matched the vehicle color.

Police say the driver, described as being 50-65 years old, had grey hair, round dark-rimmed glasses and a red polo-style shirt.

They say the man tried to lure the Bay Village Middle School student into the Caravan after she had gotten off the school bus at about 3:10 p.m. at Walmar and Carlton roads.

In a news release, police said the girl walked north on Walmar and was contacted by a man in the van. He said, "Hi" and asked the young girl to "get in."

The girl immediately ran to others who had also gotten off the bus and told them what happened.

Police were called and the area checked but the minivan was not seen.

Anyone with information should call the Bay Village Police Department at (440) 871-1234.
