LAKE COUNTY -- The Lake County Sheriff's office has identified a 17-year-old boy from Perry Township as the person responsible for the daytime burglary of an East Oregon Street home.
Physical evidence was located which connected him to the crime after Deputy Michael Zgrebnak canvassed the neighborhood.
In that burglary, the homeowner reported that they had left home at around 9 a.m. When they returned at 3:15 p.m., they found that the air conditioner was out of place and it appeared that someone had entered the home through that passage.
They found cash missing, coins, as well as jewelry, which was valued in excess of $3,000.
The homeowner reported that every room was gone through and lights were left on throughout the home.
After canvassing the neighborhood, Zgrebnak identified the teen and the case is still under investigation.
