PITTSBURGH -- A man is facing criminal charges stemming from a shootout with Pittsburgh police earlier this month.
Investigators arrested 39-year-old Monet Blair of Wilmerding on Friday in Pittsburgh. Authorities said Blair had shot a man in the arm when two police officers interrupted the assault on Sept. 9.
They said Blair sped off in a car, shooting at officers as he escaped, and the officers returned fire.
The man who was shot is recovering. The officers weren't struck in the shootout but police said Blair sustained five gunshot wounds.
They said he is being treated in a hospital for those injuries. Blair is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and related counts.
It couldn't be immediately determined whether he had a lawyer.
