AKRON, Ohio -- After several high-profile driving mishaps by young Hollywood starlets Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes, a major Akron-based company is offering a helping hand.
Tire giant Goodyear is offering the actresses free driving lessons, according to entertainment website TMZ.
The company hopes the lessons will reduce the danger they present to themselves and others by getting behind the wheel, the company explains.
A representative from Goodyear sent almost identical letters to the two actresses.
"We're sorry to hear about your latest driving mishap," the letter states. "We're concerned for your safety and the safety of those who hit the road each day, and we'd like to help out any way we can."
Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company was founded in 1898 by Summit County native Frank Seiberling. The company's world headquarters has remained in Akron throughout the company's history.
