Medical Examiner: Woman killed in Monday robbery ID'd

CLEVELAND -- An attempted robbery leaves a woman dead Monday morning.

Police say the 49-year-old woman was shot and taken to Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center by her husband. The two were stopped at E. 90th Street and Superior Avenue when a man came up to them and demanded her purse.

The suspect then fired a shot, hitting the woman, and then ran away.

Once the woman was at the medical center, she died from her injuries.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman late Monday as Amy M. Cole, of Cleveland.

The suspect is described as a black man, 25-29 years-old, standign about 5'10" and weighing about 175lbs. The man wore wire-rimmed glasses and had a mustache and tried to cover his face with a rag.
