CLEVELAND -- Testimony in the Amish beard-cutting trial in Cleveland focused on the testimony of a son detailing an alleged attack on his father.
Andy Hershberger told the court he watched three men hold his father down and cut his hair and beard during an attack last fall.
Hershberger, a preacher, said his father, a bishop, was shaking and kept crying out to his alleged attackers, "Don't shear me."

But within minutes, his father had been shorn of his hair and beard. Hershberger says his father's scalp was left bleeding from the attack.
Hershberger is the first witness in the trial of members of a breakaway Amish group. The group is on trial for alleged hate crimes in the fellow hair-cutting attacks on fellow Amish.
Defense attorneys picked away at the differences between Amish groups and described the incident as more of a family feud .
