CLEVELAND -- On March 8th, from 4:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Cleveland Animal Protective League will be live on air every hour with WKYC Channel 3 for the Fur-Get-Me-Not Telethon, which will raise funds to help the homeless animals at the Cleveland APL. This hourly broadcast from the Cleveland Animal Protective League will showcase the diverse and meaningful work the Cleveland APL does to rescue, heal, nurture, adopt and advocate for our community and its animals in need. All funds raised on March 8th will directly benefit the Cleveland APL. Please watch and put your compassion into action for a day of fun and prize give-away only on WKYC-TV3!

To donate now, call (216) 566-PETS (7387)

In honor of this special and exciting event, we are extending our adoption hours and reducing our adoption fees. On Friday, March 8, 2013, the APL will be open from 8am until 8pm and all adult cats (1 year and over) will be available for adoption for only $3 and all kittens (under 1 year) will be available for only $33. (Regular adoption fees are $45 for cats and $95 for kittens.)

"We're thrilled and honored that WKYC Channel 3 has chosen to spotlight the work we do for the homeless animals in our community," says Sharon Harvey CEO of the Cleveland APL. "Every year, we help thousands of animals who have been surrendered by their owners, brought in by Good Samaritans, transferred in from other shelters, or rescued by our humane investigations team. Some have been abandoned, abused, neglected. Some are injured or sick. Most are absolutely fine other than not having a family to love them. But, they ALL need our help and your help in some way. Tune in to learn more about the animals at the APL and how you can be a part of creating happy endings at the Cleveland APL.

And if you have room in your heart and home, please stop by the shelter to meet our wonderful animals and help in the best way possible: adopt one of your very own to love!" All dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, tested for heartworm or FeLV/FIV, have received age-appropriate vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas, and come with helpful species-specific animal care information, a free initial veterinary exam, and a collar with a personalized, engraved ID tag. All adoptable animals can be seen at Call (216) 771-4616, ext. 0 if you have questions about about adopting.
