SMITHVILLE -- Smithville School Superintendent Larry Brown is throwing his support behind the decision to suspend four cheerleaders after they posted what the school considers sexually suggestive photos on MySpace. The pictures were taken before a basketball game last season. The girls are posing with a Bart Simpson cardboard cutout that was in their changing area. The girls took the photos wearing their uniforms. The school told them what they were doing in those photos was inappropriate. The cheerleaders and their parents disagree. In an email to Channel 3 News Reporter Dave Summers, Brown said the district does not condone the behaviors and actions depicted in the digital photos. "My support is echoed by the entire Green Local Board of Education," the superintendent said. The girls were suspended from the squad for one full year.
