On Tuesday, a one mile stretch of the Towpath was dedicated at the Steelyards Commons Shopping Center.
This path will eventually connect Harvard Road and downtown Cleveland and allow for anyone to walk, jog, or bike through the city.
Mayor Frank Jackson says the completion of the trail will be good for Northeast Ohio.
“What we have here today is an opportunity to make Cleveland another part of greatness. How can we connect all the neighborhoods in the city? How can we connect all the city of Cleveland's neighborhoods to all of the amenities that we have?"
When it’s finished, the entire towpath will stretch 110 miles long.
