Dave Provenzale began the project and invited us for the first televised look at a refurbishing 80 years in the making.
Provenzale says, once the scaffolding went up, a five moth project in its own right, a surprise revealed itself.
“Until you actually got up here, up close and personal is when you really determine there was a lot of severe damage and potential for catastrophe like chunks of terra cotta falling off the building."
When terminal tower opened in 1927, it was the tallest building in the world, for thirty days, until the Empire State Building opened the next month.
Since then, water has rotted away the steel.
In 2000, Forest City, which owns the tower decided to put their building under the knife.
And the building will remain under the scaffolding, whether T-N-T shows it or not during the playoffs games, through 2010.
