The tiny camera was found in Koonce Hall, a co-ed dorm on the university's campus Monday night.
School investigators do not know if this was the work of another student or perhaps someone who worked in the dorm.
The dorms are locked -- a key card is needed to get inside.
Kent State officials are working with campus police.
They are hoping to calm nervous students and their parents.
The administration says they have swept the campus and believe this is an isolated incident.
University officials say Kent State is the safest university in Ohio.
They are currently reviewing dorm security and say they may make changes.
