When it opened in 2002, Club Moda was touted as the hottest dance club in Ohio. Now police say years of drugs, fights, and shootings at the W. 25th street hot spot have lead to its demise. Club owners had promised celebrities and glamour. The Ohio City Development Corporation even gave it an award for helping revitalize the area. But it wasn't long before neighbors say the brawls, crowds and shootings got out of hand. Later this week, one of the club's founders, 31-year-old Emad Silmis will be sentenced for selling drugs and using the money to buy and open Club Moda. As part of the settlement, the club will lose its liquor license.
