A Cleveland-area rescue group is caring for nearly 100 reptiles that were removed from a Youngstown-area home.
Keith Gisser of Herps Alive in Cleveland Heights said he has 97 reptiles, including 12 lizards and 85 snakes.
Four poisonous snakes taken from the Struthers home were taken to a zoo in Kentucky.
The snakes were exposed to mites, and three have serious mouth infections, while one has a bad nose and mouth infection.
The animals will stay with the rescue group until the case is resolved.
According to media reports, authorities went to the house after a man living there showed up at a hospital with a rattlesnake bite but left without getting proper treatment.
The man and a woman at the home are facing charges including violating exotic animal laws and child endangering.
