CANTON -- Mayor William J. Healy II has appointed Andrea M. Perry as the city's new Safety Director, effective Sept. 1.
Perry has been serving at a cabinet-level position as Director of Compliance and Personnel for the city since July of 2011, and as Acting Safety Director over the past few months.
Her experience in Human Resources spans sixteen years, and includes both the public and private sectors.
She has held the positions of General Manager of Administrative Services for the City of Cleveland working under former Mayor Michael White, Senior Organizational Advancement Analyst for The Timken Company, and most recently the State of Ohio.
Perry is a native Cantonian. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Malone University and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Ashland University.
Perry will formally take over Sept. 1 following the resignation of Warren Price, who served the city in many capacities since 2009, including Director of Public Service, Chief of Staff, Annexation, and Director of Public Safety.
"Warren Price helped move Canton forward during some of the most difficult times in the city's history, and I wish him well in his future endeavors," stated Healy.
Perry was sworn in Thursday since her official duties will begin over the holiday weekend.
