VERMILION, Ohio -- The parents and grandmother of a malnourished 18-month-old Ohio boy who died have pleaded guilty to child endangerment.
An Erie County court says involuntary manslaughter and other charges were dropped for 35-year-old Adrienne Bartholomew and 33-year-old James Brothers.
The boy's grandmother, Debra Nelson, pleaded guilty to child endangering and failing to provide for a functionally impaired person.
Isaac Brothers-Bartholomew died of malnutrition last November at home near Vermilion. His mother told authorities he had gastrointestinal problems and other medical concerns. Investigators said he hadn't seen a doctor in months.
Social service workers removed the couple's other children from the home, and four of them who were underweight were treated for malnutrition.
Messages were left Tuesday for attorneys representing Bartholomew, Brothers and Nelson. They'll be sentenced in November.
