TWINSBURG -- A man out on bond awaiting sentencing for a felony child porn conviction has been arrested on unrelated drug charges.
Police say they took Alan Christian into custody on August 22 on Ravenna Road. A search of his car, police say, turned up a gram of cocaine and $460. A search warrant executed at Christian's Twinsburg home, police say, turned up drug processing equipment and a .40 handgun.
The arrest capped a one-month investigation after police say they were tipped by a confidential source.
Earlier this month, in a separate case, a jury convicted Christian on multiple felony charges of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a child. Christian had been released on bond awaiting sentencing on September 16 on those charges when he was arrested as part of the drug investigation.
Christian is being held in jail on charges including drug trafficking, possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana.
"I'm not sure if this was stupidity or brazenness on his part, but obviously someone was aggravated enough by his activity to give us the information that Christian was dealing drugs while awaiting sentencing on crimes that could result in a prison sentence," said Chief Chris Noga. "I would hope that his bond on his original case will be revoked so that he will not be able to continue his criminal activity in our community."
