CLEVELAND -- On Friday, a task force of local, state and federal law enforcement officials closed the last of all known illegal Internet gambling halls located in Cuyahoga County.
Friday's raid seized cash and gaming terminals that were located at 12903 Shaw Avenue on Cleveland's East Side, the Cyber Depot.
Task Force officers and agents from the Parma Heights Police Department, Cleveland Police Department, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the U.S. Secret Service assisted the Ohio Department of Public Safety with this raid.
As of yet, no charges have been filed against the owners or operators of Cyber Depot, however they may face gambling and money laundering charges in the near future.
Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty said, "The days of gambling with the law have come to an end. Anyone who wishes to open an illegal gambling casino, know that we are right behind you ready to close and lock the doors. These parlors have not and will not ever be accepted in Cuyahoga County."
