AKRON -- 14 mayors and other local officials will deliver meals to seniors throughout Northeast Ohio next week.
Mobile Meals says the special Mayors For Meals Week kicks off March 18 and continues through March 22 as part of its March For Meals campaign.
"This will increase the awareness of senior hunger and highlight the importance of our daily delivery of meals to many fragile and vulnerable seniors in our community," says Lorie Travaglino, president and CEO of Mobile Meals.
Here's the breakdown of the local officials who are participating.
Monday, March 18:
- Bedford Mayor Daniel Pocek.
- Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell.
Tuesday, March 19:
- Barberton Mayor William Judge.
- Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Robart.
- Kent Mayor Jerry Fiala.
Wednesday, March 20:
- Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic.
- Fairlawn Mayor William J. Roth.
- Green Mayor Dick Norton.
Thursday, March 21:
- Norton Mayor Mike Zita.
- Stow Mayor Sara Drew.
Friday, March 22:
- Ravenna Mayor Joseph Bica.
- Twinsburg Mayor Katherine Procop.
Mobile Meals has served communities throughout Northeast Ohio for 42 years, providing meals and services to individuals of all ages who are at nutritional risk. More than 2,500 meals are delivered to the homes of children, the disabled and the elderly each day.
