COLUMBUS, Ohio - The National Weather Service has lifted winter storm warnings across Ohio, after a late-season storm dumped a half foot of snow or more on much of the state.

Some areas in western Ohio got as much as 9 inches of snow before the storm moved on through the state eastward.

Hundreds of schools including in some of Ohio's biggest public districts called off classes Wednesday.

There were treacherous driving conditions for the morning commute, with scores of mostly minor vehicle accidents reported.
