Summit County: Detective, deputy catch bank robbery suspect

COVENTRY TOWNSHIP -- Summit County Sheriff Steve Barry confirmed the arrest of a suspect in the 9:35 a.m. robbery today of the US Bank at 3100 Manchester Road.

The suspect gave the teller a note that demanded money and further instructed them not to use a dye pack. The suspect ran from the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detective Scott Plymire and Deputy Shane Smith were in the area and responded when they noticed a man that matched the description of the bank robbery suspect.

They approached him and found him to be in possession of items connecting him with the robbery of the U.S. Bank.

Zachary Green, 22 of Akron, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.

Further charges may be pending the outcome of the investigation.
