CLEVELAND -- The Cuyahoga County Grand Jury indicted convicted sex-offender and accused serial date-rapist, Thomas J. Castro, on one count of gross sexual imposition and two counts of kidnapping, according to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty.

This latest allegation follows charges that Castro raped two other local women in 2010 and 2011. Those cases remain pending in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.

Castro was also arraigned Friday on racketeering, conspiracy, and bribery charges relating to his attempts to bribe victims in an earlier rape case.

In exchange for cash, Castro and his attorneys, Anthony O. Calabrese III, G. Timothy Marshall, and Marc G. Doumbas, who are also charged in the same indictment, wanted the victims to give favorable testimony and/or letters for Castro at sentencing.

On Jan. 15, in an unrelated matter, Calabrese, 40, of Bentleyville, pleaded guilty in Akron federal court to 18 of 22 charges related to the Cuyahoga County corruption probe. He faces up to nine years in prison.

Marshall, 44, of Westlake, and Doumbas, 63, of Olmsted Falls, and Calabrese all pleaded not guilty in early January to other bribery charges.

Marshall and Doumbas are law partners and Calabrese is Marshall's nephew and the son of former Judge Anthony O. Calabrese.

These new gross sexual imposition and kidnapping charges relate to a new victim who recently disclosed to police that Castro had assaulted her in early 2011. The victim told police that after a night out with friends, Castro attempted to force her to have sex with him.

The assault ended, according to the victim, after she fought back.

Castro is currently being held on a $250,000.00 bond set by the court Friday.

Arraignment for Castro's new case has been scheduled for Feb. 22.
