Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - A pair of free throws by Michael Dunn with
seven seconds remaining resulted in a 62-61 win for the Northern Arizona
Lumberjacks over the Sacramento State Hornets in Big Sky Conference play at
Dunn made all four of his free-throw attempts on the night, finishing with
eight points for the Lumberjacks (8-14, 5-7 Big Sky) as they snapped a two-
game slide. Leading the offense for NAU were Gabe Rogers and Max Jacobsen with
22 and 16 points, respectively.
The Hornets (10-10, 5-7) were paced by John Dickson and Dylan Garrity with 13
points apiece, while Mikh McKinney tacked on 12 points in the team's second
Shooting 56.0 percent from the floor in the first half, including 6-of-10
behind the 3-point line, the Hornets led by as many as 11 points in the period
before establishing a 35-25 advantage at the break.
In the second half NAU, which had connected on 57.1 percent from the field
through the first 20 minutes of action, knocked down 51.9 percent and was a
perfect 5-of-5 at the charity stripe, as the 'Jacks stole the win in the
Sacramento State lost the rebounding battle, 27-20, and shot just 1-of-2 at
the free-throw line on the night.
