EASTLAKE -- Just before 1:30 a.m. New Year's Day, police were called to an East 345th Street home for a reported fight between the caller's brother and her husband.
Police arrived and said a Wickliffe man, 37, was obviously intoxicated as demonstrated by his slurred speech, poor balance and odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from him.
Police said he was bleeding from several areas on his head so police called for a rescue squad.
Based on witness statements, while celebrating New Year 's Eve, the man made an inappropriate comment toward his sister.
He then challenged his sister's husband to a fight after he was told not be disrespectful. The man pulled back to throw a punch when the husband swung, and the man was knocked down by the husband.
Police said the Wickliffe man was found to be the aggressor in the disturbance and was issued a disorderly intoxication citation when he was released from the hospital where he was taken for treatment of his injuries.
