TRENTON, N.J.  --  Gov. Chris Christie is a Republican well-known for his tough talk.

Now he's aiming his barbs at the highest reaches of his own party.

Christie blasted U.S. House Speaker John Boehner Wednesday for delaying a vote on a $60 billion aid package that would fund recovery from Superstorm Sandy. The storm devastated parts of New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.

Christie accused House Republicans of focusing on "internal politics" and "palace intrigue" instead of voting on the bill.

It is no secret that Christie has higher aspirations, and has cast himself as a tough-talking chief executive.

There has been little love lost of late between Christie and Republicans. Christie was criticized after praising President Barack Obama for his handling of the Sandy recovery just days before the election.
