Cleveland: Police ask for help with homicide

CLEVELAND -- Around 9:00 a.m. Saturday, police dispatch received a call from MetroHealth Medical Center for man who died of a gunshot wound.

The preliminary investigation reveals that around 6:30 a.m., the victim was involved in an argument in the 2300 block of E. 74 Street. The argument escalated into a physical altercation and the suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim.

After shooting the victim, the suspect fled the scene.  

The victim was taken to St. Vincent Charity Hospital and life lighted to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.  

The Cleveland Division of Police is asking that anyone with information in connection with this incident to contact the Homicide Unit at 216.623.5464.
