Akron: Cash reward offered to help find murder suspects

AKRON -- A cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of two men suspected in recent homicides in Akron.

The first wanted fugitive is Dontay Antonio Taylor, 22, with a last-known address on Eva Avenue.

Akron Police say he is wanted for the murder and felonious assault that happened at the Embassy Lounge in the 2200 block of Romig Road around 11:30 p.m. on July 23, 2012.

According to Akron Police, Taylor had been refused entry into the lounge before he fired several shots through the windows. The gunfire resulted in the death of Rashaan Price, 38. Two others were hurt.

The second wanted man is Lavaile Dwight Thomas Jr., 25, of Nome Avenue. Akron Police say he is wanted for the murder and felonious assault that took place outside of 604 East Avenue around 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2012.

Police say Thomas fired shots into a car, killing 18-year-old Deshawn D. Smith and injuring one other person.

His alleged accomplice, Dierre Laneal Robinson, 23, reportedly turned himself in earlier this week.

Authorities warn that both fugitives should be considered armed and dangerous.
