CLEVELAND -- When Bishop Richard Lennon closed St. Casimir Church in 2009, he was "booed" at the altar.
But today, he got a much different reception. A packed house welcomed Bishop Lennon to the church this morning for a special mass to officially install their pastor -- Father Eric Orzech.
"I think it was very nice of the bishop to come back and install the pastor, because obvisouly he is the one who closed the church, and it was nice of him to come back and... at least admit that we are still apart of the community," said parishioner Ron Powaski.
Today's Mass was followed by a reception where the returning pastor had the chance to mingle with his congregation.
St. Casimir Church, located on the city's Eastside, was one of eleven Catholic churches that successfully appealed their closure to the Vatican.
The church reopened in July.
