PERRYSBURG, Ohio - Former President Bill Clinton campaigned for President Barack Obama in Democratic strongholds in the Toledo area and Akron, sharply criticizing Mitt Romney over campaign ads that claim General Motors and Chrysler are adding jobs in China at the expense of Ohio.

At his second stop Thursday evening in Akron, a hoarse Clinton said Romney got caught with his hand in the cookie jar over the ad.

And, Clinton added, the Romney campaign increased the use of what Clinton called a "bogus ad."

Romney's campaign has fought back against criticism from Democrats and the automakers, arguing that the ads are accurate.

The ads repeat a version of Romney's claim at a rally in Ohio last week that Chrysler is moving Jeep production to China. Chrysler says no jobs are being moved.
