AKRON -- A 20-year-old man will spend the next seven years behind bars for his connection in the death of a baby boy.

Randy Legg was the final defendant to be sentenced in the death of 17-month-old Patrick Lurch, who died in February after ingesting large amounts of methamphetamine.

Legg pleaded guilty back on Sept. 21 to involuntary manslaughter and illegal possession of chemicals to manufacture drugs.

The child and his mother, co-defendant Heather Lerch, 21, had moved into Legg's home on St. Leger Avenue just a few days prior to the deadly incident.

The Summit County Prosecutor's Office says the child was kept in the home's rat-infested basement under the care of Ronald Legg (Randy's brother), 22, and Allen Kostra, 25.

The two had been cooking meth throughout Patrick's final days.

Ronald Legg -- who pleaded guilty to murder, child endangering and illegal manufacturing of drugs -- was sentenced to life in prison with parole eligibility after 27 years.

Kostra -- who pleaded guilty on Aug. 16 to involuntary manslaughter, child endangering and illegal manufacture of drugs -- was sentenced to nine years in prison.

A jury found Heather Lerch guilty of murder, involuntary manslaughter and child endangering on Aug. 27. She was sentenced to life in prison with parole eligibility after 22 years.
