LORAIN -- A dog has been rescued after being found by police nearly starved to death at a house in the 200 block of East 29th Street.

Police found the dog on Saturday night when they were called to the address for a noise complaint due to a party.

Officers found the dog, a mastiff, in the garage tied to a table.  Police say it appears the animal survived by eating the garbage.

The emaciated dog was covered in sores.

The man living in the house could face possible animal cruelty charges.

The dog is in the care of an emergency animal clinic.
